For the third consecutive year, on June 22, the event Kefalonia Wine Hub took place in Lixouri, organized by the Kefalonia Winemakers Association and Antheia Kotsi.

This year’s conference brought current issues in viticulture and wine to the forefront, focusing specifically on Biodynamic and Smart Agriculture. Guest speakers Dimitrios Georgas (winemaker, geologist), Marios Desyllas (agronomist, biodynamic farming consultant), Dimitrios Christoudis (MSc Agronomist – Smart Agriculture Expert), and Iasonas Biniaris (MSc Agronomist – Smart Agriculture Expert) addressed an audience made up of winemakers, grape growers, local representatives, and wine enthusiasts from Kefalonia and beyond. The event was followed by an impressive demonstration of a spraying drone in a vineyard in the Paliki area.

The Kefalonia Wine Hub aims to establish Kefalonia as a hub—a center for discussion and exchange around wine—by bringing distinguished professionals to the island and addressing important topics related to wine and viticulture that concern the industry. The journalists invited by the Kefalonia Winemakers Association help promote the initiative nationwide. As part of the Hub, the guests visited Kefalonia’s vineyards and wineries, while their experience also included meals featuring traditional dishes from the island.
